James Jackson

As CEO and Founder of digital clinical diagnostics and diabetes home testing provider Digostics, James oversees all aspects of the company's domestic and international activity.

James is a biochemist and immunologist and has worked within the diagnostics and life science sectors since the mid-1980s, initially at Genzyme developing hormone assays for IVF and assisted conception.  Later, when working at Novo Nordisk, James obtained an early first-hand view of the needs and opportunities in the diabetes field and took his first steps in the development of diagnostics for diabetes.

James has experience working across all aspects of diagnostics technology, from the development of enabling technologies in immunoassay, enzymatics, monoclonal antibodies and biosensors, to assay technology formats including microparticles, tubes, microplates and lateral flow, to diagnostic tests for endocrinology, oncology and infectious diseases.

The entrepreneurial journey leading to the creation of Digostics, saw James conceive and develop the world’s first 100% paper-based lateral flow test platform, the first diagnostic device based on printed electronics, the first all-paper biosensor and the first wireless-enabled test device.

As the inventor of GTT@home, James continues to lead all of Digostics' product and research development and partner closely with the clinical research community on new opportunities to advance diabetes diagnostics.
